Maki & Ramen Birmingham is looking for an experienced and adaptable Kitchen Assistant to lead the launch and shape the future of this exciting new site. If you're ready to take the next step in your career and be part of a vibrant, expanding team, we’d love to hear from you.


Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily food prep, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing broths, sauces, and ramen toppings.
  • Support ramen and grill stations by preparing noodles, assembling bowls, and cooking grilled items to standard.
  • Prepare ingredients for sushi, ramen, and hot kitchen dishes following recipes and portion guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen stations, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Follow food hygiene, health, and safety procedures, including stock rotation and proper storage.
  • Assist with deliveries, stock checks, and kitchen opening/closing duties.
  • Support chefs during busy service and help minimise food waste.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred, but not essential as training is provided.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knife skills and understanding of food preparation.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards is a plus.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and flexible with shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
