About the Executive Chef role


As Maki & Ramen’s Deputy Executive Chef, you will support the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations across our sites, helping ensure our menu is delivered consistently to the highest standards.

This role is ideal for a strong kitchen leader ready to step into a senior position, combining hands-on culinary expertise with team leadership and operational support. You will help foster a collaborative, innovative kitchen culture while maintaining quality, efficiency, and food safety excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities
  • Assist with menu development, recipe innovation, and seasonal updates
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency across sites
  • Help oversee food production, portion control, cooking methods, and presentation standards
  • Collaborate with management on events, promotions, and menu initiatives
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and food cost management
  • Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations
  • Help ensure kitchens remain clean, organised, and efficient


Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef, Head Chef, or similar senior kitchen role (multi-site experience desirable)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate teams
  • Solid knowledge of culinary techniques, food trends, and kitchen best practices
  • Good understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and passion for quality food
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
